Hello, I just received a new Ferndown pipe from my wife for Christmas, and I would like to try some Ferndown pipe tobacco. Does anyone on the list have experience with these? Regards, Bill |

Hi William, The only one that I'm pretty familiar with is Mild Brown, a very nice dark Virginia honeydew in partially rubbed out flake form. It is a mellow, tasty Virginia with a sweet and spicy note. I also found this to be relatively easy on the tongue for a stoved Virginia. I like this one quite a bit. I've also had the Yellow & Brown blend a while ago but cannot remember very much about it. It's a mild Virginia/oriental blend without latakia. Not bad as I recall. All of the Ferndown tobaccos are blended in Germany by the ubiquitous Kohlhase & Kopp. |
