Hello All, I need some help. I have been smoking CBW rather happily and have lately found 'Old Mariner' at a local brick and mortar. I don't know (yet) where they get it from. I like aromatics with a great room note (keeping wifey happy) and a strong flavor. I see review after review of Vas and Englishs but I have read that they have less than pleasant room notes. Any suggestions for a strong flavored, pleasant room note aromatic? Thanks |

Robert, Try "Sunday's Fantasy". It's available on line, smells great AND smokes well. |

Peterson Sunset Breeze; very bystander friendly, but you need to like the sweet raspberry and almond flavour. Not that the tobacco doesn't come through too, there is an underlying nuttiness there and if you are in the mood for something fruity it fits the bill. |

If you want to step up to what I call a hybrid tobacco, try Peter Stockebye Luxury Twist Flake. It's a very nice Cavendish pressed pure Virginia with a very pleasant but subtle Vanilla topping and a nice room note. It's not ging to have people begging you to light your pipe, but you should get a nod of approval from the Mrs. It's the only "semi-aromatic" I smoke, and I love the stuff. Larry |

A follow-up to my previous post. I have tried several of C&D's blends and have learned so much. First, I learned that Latakia smells and tastes like patchouli and perique like burning rubber. The following are very nice: #888 Amaretto (Almondette) #309 Irish Blessing #307 Coffeenut Autumn Evening Interlude Y'all might not care, but I thought I'd add it as some possibly useful aromatic infirmation. I want to try some Boswells next. |

I recently tried DAN Tobacco's DaVinci and found it a little too sweet for me, but I got a lot of comments at work about how good it smelled. |
