Dunhill London Mixture was my favorite pipe tobacco. I have found a few others I don't mind smoking but nothing to replace the London Mix. I have seen a couple copies advertised on web sites but I haven't tried any, and I'm not convinced they are actually the same. Does anyone know of the same blend else where? |

Wade, Upon ordering some tobacco from Iwan Ries a month ago I inquired as to the status of Dunhill tobacco returning to the US of A. I was told that presently a search of a US distributor was in the making. More recent a reliable source returning from the New Orleans retail tobacco convention heard too that there is something in the works. As to the product line no details were shared. You would think that blenders, importors, distributors and retailers would access the commercial page of this site to announce trade news? I would. I've smoked a train load of Dunhill in my time, I've surely missed it. |

Supposedly a new distributor (CAO) is going to bring the Dunhill blends back to the US pretty soon. |

--"is this for the dunhill, orlik blends? when did they stop selling them in the states?" Yes, for the Orlik Dunhill blends. Dunhill lost its US distributor a year or more ago (can't remember exactly when). |

The new rumor I hear (and I repeat it's only a rumor) is that the deal with the new distributor hit a snag and the Dunhill blends probably won't be available in the US until early next year. At least Orlik is still making them, so probably we'll see them again here sooner or later. |

I have it on good authority that they are all back in November. happy day! However, as to the original poster, Wade, When Greg Pease made Westminster, it was in an attempt to recreate the magic he felt in the original London Misture, pre-Murray. If you havent tried it yet, you really should. I never had the Original London Mixture, but Westminster is a FABULOUS smoke. You can read it here: http://glpease.com/BriarAndLeaf/?p=37 Cheers! |
