Hey Guys,
I am thinking of purchasing another pipe and have found a nice looking on at Iwan Ries, but before I it can anyone tell me about T. Cristiano pipes?
I'm mainly looking to gauge by experiences and the like.
Thanks for all your help

I believe Cristiano makes the Calabrese line of pipes. I own four Calabreses and really like them.

I have a L'Anatra that I believe is made by the same guy/people. It is a rusticated Brandy/Billiard with a big silver band and a tapered bit. I find the draw is a tiny bit tight but if I'm careful how I load the bowl, I don't have any problems. Pipe cleaner passes with ease and it's quite a looker. Short and chubby, with nice thick walls. Quite a bargain IIRC. I dedicated Solani 763 to it -- about 30-40 smoked bowls and it is great. The real test: I would buy another. Good luck!

Right, Thomas Cristiano offers two lines, the Cristiano and the Calabresi. Arriving in NY in 1968 he began his career as a pipemaker with S.M. Frank Co. Inc. Here's an interesting article http://www.pipaergosum.it/pipemakers/pino-4.html

L'anatra is strictly an Italian brand homed in Pesaro and run by Andrea Pascucci & Massimo Palazzi.

I regret to be the bearer of sad news, but apparently Thomas Cristiano passed away a few days back. I found the report here: http://www.cigarcyclopedia.com/index2.php

Requiescat in pace.
