I've been trying to figure out how to match different tobaccos to different pipe chamber configurations. Does it boil down tobacco cut? With chunky burleys smoking best in large wide chambers and slender virginians better in tall narrow chambers?

It's a bit weird really, cut plays a part, but certainly does not account for all of the difference. For example, perique blends taste better to me in a wide bowl, straight burleys are better to me in a small bowl, etc. The trick is to figure out what you like best on your own, it's part of the fun.
