250 buys a LOT of pipe. I don't have a Moretti, or know the brand. They do look nice, and my experience with hand made Italian pipes is that they are very very good. If you think it seems right for the person in question (for instance, if they have other Moretti, or other Italian pipes), then I would say go for it. If, on the other hand, this individual has a collection of standard shape, "English pedigree" pipes, then you might do better to look in that direction, at an Ashton, a Ferndown, Dunhill, etc. If I had 250 for an Italian pipe, I would probably go to a Cavicchi. |

Morettis are well made. Try their eBay site bima1960. Marco is a neat fellow. |

I just got a Moretti (haven't smoked it yet) and it's a beauty. The workmanship and quality of the briar is impeccable. I think the lucky recipient will be very happy with it.
