I had a general question for those of you that also have a Lepeltier clay. Having owned and smoked mine for quite some time now I find it necessary to replace the cork due to its blackened color and bitter taste that is slightly transferring to my smoke. Anyway, removing the cork was difficult as it was apparently affixed with some sort of glue to keep it from sliding off. I thought nothing of it until I attached a new cork joint (one of the spares from Lepeltier). Without the glue, whatever it was, the cork joint slides off the stem when trying to remove it from the pipe. I don't know if any of you have encountered a similar difficulty when replacing the cork but I was wondering if you might have a clue as to what type of glue should be used to keep the cork in place? A new cork fits very snug and as such, experiences quite a bit of resistance when being pulled/twisted from the pipe. Any ideas? Thanks! |
