Hello all, I feel the call to return to my friend of briar from the days of yore, and return I have. However, the economic situation being as it is, my wallet is not-quite-so nicely padded for thepurchasing of fine pipes (like the Stanwells and their beautiful #30 acorn shape). This was a very dismaying thought, until I remembered that briar is graded differently, and due to the volume of pipes most companies produce, it is inevitable that some pipes will fail to meet quality standards, but still be a functional and fine smoking pipe: the factory second. My question is this: could you direct me to a retail outlet that sells factory seconds, namely Stanwell seconds, in hopes that I may find one of those lovely acorn pipes? In my quest to return to the Brotherhood of the Briar, I cannot find a source for these affordable pipes. I thank you kindly, in advance, for any and all help. | ||

First place to search is this board and I turned up this. http://www.pipes.org/Articles/Seconds.html You could take each of the Stanwell second names and do a net search or do a second search on the forums for favorite net dealers and as always you call or visit your local retailer. |
