All, Does anyone here have any feedback about the Vauen pipe company? I am thinking of purchasing one of their higher end pipes. Are they good smokers? Thanks... |

Vauen is one of the oldest German pipe factories, their pipes are well made and good smokers. I think, one can compare them with Stanwell pipes for value for the money and smoking qualities. I do not know however wether they make pipes without the 9mm filter system or not. If the 9 mm chamber is not a point, you buy yourself a great pipe for the money |

The low end vauens are not especially good, I'm told - typical frazed off factory pipe. However, if you can get their high end ones (in Germany these carry a white dot in the stem like Dunhill) they are very good indeed. I have the lowest end of the high end, a rusticated pipe marked Regent, and it's good. |

I have a Vauen "Excusiv" rusticated, with the white dot on the stem, and it is an exceptionally fine smoking pipe. Salt and Everclear, and a good cleaning with a couple of pipecleaners soaked in Everclear, and it was lovely. |

I have a Vauen pipe I am very very happy with. A beautiful briar bowl with a press meer lining with the peterson bit system. I have not had a chance to try more of their pipe line though. |
