I have a briar pipe that has the words 'irish gem' stamped in the wood of the stem and a shamrock enraved in the metal band joining the wooden bowl and the mouthpiece. It was given to me by a pipe shop as a replacement for a pipe they had tried to repair when the repair went wrong. At the time they told me that it was a Peterson second but have never been able to confirm this. It has an intricate grain in the bowl which is attractive although there are a couple of tiny blemishes, a tiny speck of filler and a small gap in the grain where a tiny bit of wood must have fallen off.

It smokes OK but bubbles if smoked more than once a day and the bowl does get quite hot - it is a biliard shape.
