First, best wishes to all--I'm delighted to be member of this board! What are some of your mild, aromatic tobacco recommendations? And what do you see as the main advantage of the P-Lip system from Peterson? |

Lanes RPL-6. Vanillia scent, no tounge burn, little nic bite. It is what my current work tobac is because I smoke a lot and when I get caught up thinking and steady puffing no harm done. Next order I will try some similar for a change of pace.

My understanding of the P-Lip is that it directs smoke away from the tip of ones tongue. This I guess could help prevent tongue burn. With quality pipes, tobacco, and proper smoking technique though one should do just fine with standard stems.I may be a little odd in that I dont like much of a lip on my stems. In fact when I get a new pipe I file the lip down to make it thinner.Of course if you clench your pipe in your teeth this probably wouldn't be a good idea. There's a ton of mild of aromatics on the market. My old standby drug store blend has always been Captain Black in the white package. |

My go-to tobacco for the last few years has been Butera's Royal Vintage Sweet Cavendish. It smells and tastes sweet and has a great room note. I've also smoked McClelland's Carolina Deluxe with great success, though not often because I can't find it around here in bulk. Good luck! |

If you want a good, really sweet smoke, try Lane 1Q. I just tried and liked Down By the River by 4noggins. It's a good lightly aromatic burley blend that really lets you taste the tobacco. |

I've found that McClelland Town Topic (maple) is a pleasant yet not too sweet aromatic. As a point of reference I found Peterson Sunset Breeze (amaretto) too sweet, and I find Altadis Blue Note (flavor unk.) almost too sweet. As a second point of reference I'm not much of an aro fan. 50 gms. will last me a year or until the flavoring has dissipated, whichever comes first. |

An absolutely fantastic and mild, delicious tobacco is Just for Him's "Shortcut to Mushrooms". I just received an 8oz bag in the mail and it is absolutely what smoking a pipe is all about to me. In every review I have read, I have never seen anyone that didn't like it. Try it! You won't be disappointed. |
