I recently got a clay pipe, having become acquainted with them while working at a living history museum, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to carry one. When I was on site (the museum was an 18th century tobacco farm) I would carry a pipe in the knot of my neckerchief but I can't really do that in 21st century garb.

On a side note, smoking homegrown VA, cured but not treated or flavored in any way, in a clay pipe is a wonderful experience.

I've seen wooden clay pipe holders online for some very old clay pipes. Perhaps if you know someone or you yourself are a skilled woodworker you could come up with one. Good luck and let us know what you come up with!
